Below you will find photos of electric lighted decorations and candles from the 1960s through the 1980s. This is another grouping of some of my favorite Halloween collectibles. The Empire Corp. is known for their line of plastic electrically lighted decorations (sometimes called blow-molds). The company went out of business a number of years ago and their lighted decorations from the late sixties through the eighties are becoming highly collectible items. Copyrighted in 1969 they produced a series of small table top plastic light-ups that all measure about 14" in height. Another producer of these plastic light-up was Tico Toys. I couldn't possibly have a photo essay on Halloween items without including candles from the marvelous Gurley Candle Co. of Buffalo NY. As with so many other ventures, Gurley is long gone, but they left behind a legacy of wonderful and highly collectible holiday candles. These Gurley candles are rapidly gaining popularity with collectors and over the past few years the price for these items has risen steadily. Their Halloween candles are among some of the most delightful themed sculptural candles I've seen. Please note that none of these items are for sale. |

These Empire light-ups are all around 14" tall and were probably made during the seventies. The one all the way to the left is really quite detailed. Notice the skull between the cat's legs. |

Although it cannot be confirmed, I believe these two light ups were made by Tico Toys. They were very likely produced in the late 1960s through the mid-1970s. The owl is one of my particular favorites. |

This 14" Haunted House from the early 1970s seems to be the most coveted of the Halloween Empire Co light ups. I've seen one or two of these in mint condition sell on eBay for over $100. |

The candles pictured below were all manufactured by the Gurley Candle Co. at various times from the 1960s through the early 1980s. Their level of detail is really quite wonderful. They range in size from 3 to 8.5 inches. |
